I went there for a theme High Tea, Alice in Wonderland. Amazingly presented on the website, seemed very attractive and interesting. Once there, horrible experience. We were 9 people sitting at a table (3 different groups) with 2 tiers plate!!! It's the first time ever that I go to a high tea and a tier plate is shared between unrelated people. My friend and I were sitting at the end of the table with a family of 5, including 3 children, beside us. The kids jumped on the sweets and it disappeared in no time. There wasn't even enough scones for each person at the table. No jam, nothing to accompany the scone so it was really dry. Four pieces of cucumber sandwich in the tier (one sandwich cut in four)! The workers looked like they would rather be anywhere but there. No smiles, no enthusiasm. The craft activities, a table with paper and wax crayons. I didn't give one star because the place is beautiful and charming. Unfortunately the cost of the tea, 35$, doesn't include the right to walk...
Read moreThis is a review of their English High Tea, available in the Summer. My wife and I are trying out the high teas in Estrie and this is one of the best. Such a great venue for high teas, it’s like you’re thrown back in time. The tea was really good with my personal favourites being the cucumber sandwich (generous with the cucumber), the lemon tart, and the caramel square. The tea was a local blend (Sherbrooke) and was quite tasty. Our server was super friendly and we appreciated that he spoke to us in English (as one should do at an English High Tea). Such a lovely area with the falls and river, and the covered bridge right next door. If you’re a fan of high teas you need to check...
Read moreThe video played at the start of the tour gives an excellent summary of the place and its history, more fascinating though is the glimpse of "19th century high-tech" since most all of the machines used to process the wool are functional AND functioning. A friend with me did not speak French and the guide did a pretty good job of presenting the tour in English(if unilingual English you may want to check about this 1st) While "19th century high tech "was a joke the machinery is very interesting and sophisticated despite most of it being made of wood. This mill was abandoned and deteriorating in the 1970's but now has a second life as a living museum, a good...
