I wanted to enjoy this campsite, I really did. The friendly staff welcoming you to the park coupled with a spectacular view could well have made this the ultimate experience but all such moments are forgotten when discovering the long drop facilities which can only be described as abhorrent. I am not above ‘non-modern’ facilities but the long drops were nauseating. A ‘boil water’ notice was in effect rendering the ‘comfort facilities’ unusable. I can understand the showers were out of order but the flushing toilets I do not. There are many taps about the site with notices advising to boil first, it doesn’t seem a stretch to put those notices in the bathroom too to prevent consumption from the sinks. If they were concerned someone may drink from the toilet, I say let them and allow natural selection to take its course. All this could have been avoided if it were mentioned the facilities were out of order on the website but alas, there was only mention of the boil notice, I did not consider this would affect flushable toilets. Nor was it mentioned at check in that the facilities were out of order. We discovered this only at 6pm and when the issue was raised, we were offered a full refund if we didn’t wish to stay. All well and good but a case of too little too late given the time of evening we raised the issue. Overall a disappointing experience. I give this two stars not because of the state of the long drops but to be charged full price for an unserviceable campsite ($63 incl tax, which is expensive by campsite rates) and no prior warning online or at check in about...

Amazing Staff! World Class 5⭐️

I work in the service industry.

We showed up to the site I had booked on line and realized that it did not have power. Went back to the office and the person working the desk booked is into a new spot with power.

Then later that night 10mins to closing that same person helped me book for our 3rd night at a different site.

The new site was on the furthest point it could have been from the previous one and I had left my power adapter. We didn’t want to have to unhitch the trailer to drive all they way back. Without it we would have been out of power for the night.

Again back to the office and I asked if someone could take me up there (not possible because covid) or if they could radio the grounds crew to pick it up for me.

Either request was a long shot because it’s way outside of their job description and was my fault for leaving anything behind in the first place.

Staff member gets in a Parks truck and drives all the way back to the first site and returns to the office with it a very short time later. Saved the day!!!

Grounds crew also doing an amazing job at keeping everything neat and tidy!

Amazing examples of how the staff here not only is great at their jobs and clearly enjoy being here but go above and beyond to provide excellent...

We had rented 2 trailer equipped campsite. We reached there @6:00 and saw a note on office window to proceed to our site. Upon reaching we realized that our trailers were locked. We called Ontario parks and they couldn't get hold of anyone to get us the keys. We drove twice to office to see if there was an envelope there or at somewhere on trailer. After 2 hours of scrambling around we were almost about to leave when my husband messaged on their fb page via messenger. Someone replied in like 5 minutes and we had keys in next 15 minutes. Trailer was amazing but I personally think there was lack of communication and leaving instructions for the customers. There should have been instructions via email in case if someone reaches there after office hours. There also should be a phone number where the customers can get hold of someone in scenarios like this. Imagine us stranded in wilderness and we had 2 families in other trailer with 3 children. I was only thankful that we were the first ones to get there and were able to get the keys after 2 hiurs of running around the bushes. They compansated us by giving us free fire wood for the 2 nights we were there and our checkout was extended...

Absolutely beautiful provincial park and great campsites! Tons of amazing places to dip into the water or jump on a SUP board/canoe/etc. The beaches are great, the hikes in the area vary from easy to difficult! There’s something for everyone to do. Modern showers with warm water are very nice and big! Tons of wildlife and nature to be seen and explored! My only complaint is that the park is frequently used by single day pass users who don’t appreciate having modern bathrooms like the campers do. Therefore, the main bathrooms are often very dirty, toilet paper everywhere, and quite gross. Parks doesn’t maintain/clean the bathrooms nearly as often as they require.

Took a trip here this weekend. Not what I was expecting and honestly was a little disappointed. There is not much of a rushing river near the campground where we stayed. Washrooms were extremely dirty and the water was unusable due to a water Boling advisory. The environment in and around the park itself was stunning and the trip from winnipeg to the park was beautiful. I am giving this 3 stars because it was my first time here and it was a long weekend however it was not a good first impression. Not sure if I will go back as there are much nicer parks closer to winnipeg in manitoba.

Very nice campground, well maintained and very clean facilities. The campsites are huge, we had plenty of room with two large tents set up. One was a 12x12 screen tent and the other one was a 10person sleeping tent... we even had room to spare. Lots of stuff to do here with your kids. We truly enjoyed our stay and will be making this an annual trip.
