Used to be a beautiful park/beach that was a yearly tradition for generations, but the standards have rapidly declined. Theres a lovely dog only beach, but unfortunately, people are bringing their dogs onto the family beaches and leaving their droppings/letting them pee in the sand. Families blasting music so you can't sit on half the beach without hearing it. Its custom to rent your canoes and leave them down at the water, and had random families taking our canoes and taking other people's paddles and life jackets (we keep ours on site) so we couldn't use it and other families equipment is now missing. The forest is supposed to be left as is to protect this patch of wildlife. Instead i watch family after family grab all the fallen wood off the ground to burn, destroying the undergrowth. Some burning a fire all day for no reason as they hid in their tents. Cheap, good burning firewood is available within a 15 minute drive. A group decided to bring a 115 hp engine onto the lake, bringing it right near the main beaches. When approached saying there are horse power limits on most provincial park lakes and said which they could go to, they ignored the advice and carried on driving around the lake. Bringing an elderly family member to the beach there is a handicap parking/unloading area, and there was no where to park or unload due to cars parked everywhere blocking the roadways, and no one following signage driving the wrong way down the roads. It used to be that you required a parking sticker to access the campground and limit the number of cars/people, and that appears to be gone. Rangers are now arm-chair specialists. Several years ago, they would pop in to give reminders or warnings to make sure the rules and environment were respected, lucky now to see them leave their car seat or even show up. It has lead to people having no concern or respect for each other in...

Read moreBeautiful campground with lake nearby (walking distance).
BEST views of the lake during sunrise. The sight was fantastic. (See videos)
BEST spot to be at night is by the beach/lake for stargazing.
Clean campground. Just alot of pine cones. Some sites were smaller than others, so you have to look at the pics when you book it. Ive walked around and ive seen a lot of sites in the corner were the biggest.
Some has privacy, but most sites have none and youre right beside other people.
Some water taps are tricky to find, make sure to bring buckets. Porta potties were still tolerable and sanitizers were available. Showers had burning hot water that runs few mins at a time. Washrooms are cleaned in the morning, not sure in the afternoon/night. Washrooms and showers can be busy. I shower at 6am, and no line up.
Our site 98(corner + electricity), was 5 mins away from the showers/toilets, few steps away from the porta potty, 10 mins walk to the icecream shop/restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised that our site was huge (could fit 2 cars + 3 tents + canopy + u still have some space for bonfire).
Staff/rangers do go around, so far at least twice (as i seen, could be more). Theyre all fairly nice!
I recommend...
