What a lovely place to ski, especially if you are skiing with a youngster, a new skier, or a little older and want a more mild and calm experience,. I would like to say that pricing was very high, but these days all the hills are asking astronomically high pricing. So relative to others the pricing here is between fair and reasonable. The two main lifts worked well, staff were lovely, Ski patrol were excellent and super helpful and very attentive to their surroundings. This is really a safely run hill. From Montreal, exit 76 usually takes around 45 to 50 minutes of driving and is quite reasonable - the drive back is usually more crowded by who cares at that point in the day lol. One of the super benefits of this location (as with Ski Mont Vallée Bleue close by) in Val David area, is the proximity to the amazing and renown Restaurant au Petit Poucet (located at 1030 Rte 117, in Val-David). We went there for breakfast - the Ogre, and was well fed and fuelled with greta food and coffee to ski an entire day. It is best to buy your tickets on line if you know how to and it makes it super quick to get on the slopes too. The pro-shop had a nice assortment of items to purchase, and especially filled with all the items you would need like more Hotshots for your gloves. The food is average and the pricing is - well, ski hill pricing. As with any ski hill the best deal and healthiest one is to pack food and leave it in a cooler in the car. You take a break and relax in the privacy of your car, eat and drink, then walk right to the lift and back to...
Read moreCozy and Great for beginners. Slopes are very short and it takes you less than a minute from top to bottom. One downside is that the chairs are not fast and are slowed down often due to a lot of young beginners taking lessons and getting on/off chairs. Yet, there is no line up. And i feel this is the whole point of this station: it is great for young kids taking lessons. My son is 5 and i could not ask for better for his age and level of skiing, and MOST IMPORTANTLY the fact that they offer group lessons one week-end out of two, if you need it (e.g. for shared custody, or just to enjoy each other week-end doing something else with your kids). The restaurant offers everything you need, the dining room is decent and you don't step on everyone's toes like at other stations. This place is exceptional for what it has to offer. I really like it in that sense. But I definitely do not recommend it for experienced skiers... without a kid i would get bored pretty...
Read moreThe price is right at this small-medium hill. My kids and I went here on a Tuesday (which is one of the few ski hills open in the area on a Monday/Tuesday) and had a great time. We also rented equipment and enjoyed the banter of the associates with the clients. They were very helpful and wanted the best skiing experience for their customers. There was only 1 quad-lift working, so it caused a pretty big delay when something went wrong with it near the end of the day. The variety of trails more than made up for it though! There's decent greens, some tougher-than-they-look blues, some really good blacks and some crazy tough double-diamonds. The best part was by far the trick hill. It included a racing track & Big Air jumps, like you would see at the X-games. We...
