So….. I’ll start by saying that this is a nice and unique campground. But, depending on the time of year and where your site is located will determine whether or not you will enjoy your stay. We had the unfortunate luck of camping in an exposed site on loop C site 95. So on top of dealing with a crazy amount of mosquitoes (no surprise since this year has been exceptionally bad) we were completely exposed to the searing heat and sun the Okanagan is known for. We ended up cutting our trip short because it was simply not enjoyable. During the day it was impossible to stay in the tent or sheltered dining area because it was 10 degrees hotter than outside and if you sat outside the mosquitoes would eat you alive. The people that run this place should really consider blocking out the exposed sites to RV’s only and leave the sheltered tree lined sites to the tent campers. This truly is a unique location with a beautiful lake and lots to do for families so it’s a shame that the experience of camping here can be so different depending on what site you get. As others have suggested, planting tree’s for more shade and doing a better job with mosquito control can turn this campground from a 3 star to a 5 star location. In the meantime they can make an immediate difference by prioritizing the tree lined spots for us tent campers. It was just a crime seeing giant RV’s parked in most of the tree lined sites, enjoying the shade, running AC while everyone in the exposed middle sites were roasting in the heat.

This park is located on Westside Road that near Vernon BC. There is good hwy signage and Google maps works well to find this park. Westside road is a paved, two lane road; it is rather twisty, turny but in good condition. There are mature trees offering some shade in the older campground section. The newer meadow campground has very little shade. There are no hookups at campsites. The Okanagan is hot and dry in summer and generator hours are limited in BC Parks. Be prepared to spend hot afternoons swimming. The lake shore is easily accessible from both campgrounds plus there is a boat launch and small campground store. Excellent playground in the older campground, flush toilets, and free hot showers. An added bonus at this park is a pet beach area so your pet can enjoy swimming in the lake with you through the hot afternoons. See the park website for the historical aspects of this park. Flush toilets, free hot showers, good drinking water at park.

Beautiful provincial park, lots of campsites, ( There are 5 different sections) the hayfield is the newest & is pretty hot (very little shade🌞) & can be very windy ( I've watched people's tents blow away).. So recommend a RV/trailer in those sites. The park is Family friendly with playgrounds and lots of clean shower houses. The history of the place is really cool. I would recommend the tour of the mansion, a walk up the waterfall stairs, a swim or paddle at the beautiful beaches. Fun for all ages. (Make sure to bring your mosquito repellent!! ( there are areas that they swarm here) and water shoes for the beach. It is a beautiful place

Beautiful location, great beaches, waterfall is nice but a lot of stairs. Overall nice campsite but if you are looking to enjoy the night/evening portion of a good camping trip do not come here. We stayed for almost a week due t z I don’t know if family reunion, quiet time is at 10, the second night we stayed the park ranger came and told us at 1130 that we are not allowed to talk so we had to whisper the rest of the night. A few nights later he came and said we had a complaint from the evening before because we had a few family members over and we were talking until about midnight and then later in the night (around 3) we came back to the site and had a conversation. The night after this he came and was EXTREMELY rude and threatened us if we didnt stop talking he would have to kick us out. We had a 7 month old baby sleeping in our tent the entire time we were apparently being too loud and never once has she even woken up to that. Once he left we were listened around to other campsites in our area and they were being just as loud and didn’t get a single warning. But when we tried to tell him we didn’t think we were being loud, he said apparently the night before our neighbors made a huuuuuge complaint. We were never once told about this so called complaint until 2 days later. Shouldn’t we have been told about the complaint if there even was one??!! He blatantly lied and told us our neighbors had come from Britain and Germany, but our neighbors who overheard everything the park ranger said came right over after he left and said they never even spoken to that man once and that they were definitely NOT from Britain and just wanted to clear that up with us cause they had abosolutly no issue with us any of the nights. The others in the close by area had BC liscence plate on their vehicle and Rv. He then proceeded to tell us we had been making noise all night which was another lie because we had been at another campsite all night. He belittled us and blamed us for something we had not done and scolded us as if we were children in school: we may have been a little loud for a few minutes that night but he made it seem as if we were delinquents and were partying and yelling in our campsite. We never had any problems with any of the other park rangers during our stay at Fintry, seemed to always be the same one. We felt as if we were being picked on and it completely ruined...

Fintry Provincial Park is a 35 to 40 minutes scenic drive from either Kelowna or Vernon. Directions from Kelowna: Exit Westside Road after La Casa resort to your right at the sign Fintry. Travel down the winding road and go across the bridge over Shorts Creek . You will have arrived. Directions from Vernon : Follow Westside Road past the Red - 4 garage Firehall (left side) follow signs Fintry and exit Westside Road . Turn left at the post boxes. Travel down the winding road and go across the bridge over Shorts Creek . You will have arrived. If you want to enjoy the outdoors, the sounds of nature, this is where you want to be. Walk up wooden stairs to view Fintry Falls and if your feeling energized, continue onto the top for a majestic view. (399 stairs to the very top). Don’t want to walk the stairs, There is also a trail to the very right by the stairs behind the outdoor washroom and it zigzags to the views above and the falls.

Also enjoy a great walk along the lakeside through all the campsites. Bring a lunch and have a picnic, plays games by the playground park for children, and have fun. At Fintry park there is Fintry estate with tours of inside the manor (donation $5.00) on Saturday from 1:00pm to 2:30pm (last years times). Check for 2019 dates, times, and fees.

Come alone or bring your loved ones, discover what’s awaits you! Make memories to treasure for a lifetime.❤️ From one who lives...
