One of my favorite places to walk my dog. The main access via Collins Hill has a gate that is often closed in the winter (probably because the road down to the small parking lot is quite steep and would be treacherous in the snow) but the trails can be accessed on either end by the Sunnyside or Casa Loma neighborhoods (limited street parking) or off of Collins Road. The lower trail is fairly wide and follows the lake and has vault toilets and trash cans midway (please pick up after your dog!). There is a unfenced dog beach area (a bit more natural -no sandy smooth beach here) - this is the only off-leash area. The upper trail is very narrow but has beautiful views. Watch out for patches of a prickly pear low growing cactus - they will get stuck in your dog's paws- they are in a few areas just off the upper trail. Note that these trails tend to get quite busy in summer and on weekends. Also a nice place to launch your kayak with a dock that has a launch for handicapped (only in the summer).

Beautiful little area that’s especially good if you want somewhere with lots of little nooks and crannies so you can find your own quiet area of the beach, absolutely lovely place to paddleboard, and I quite enjoyed my birthday there, especially since I asked my best friend for a quiet place to go!!

Beautiful nice loop trail to walk with kids and doggy. Not too many people and path was well maintained. Just be careful that there are many tiny cactus rolling on the side of path and our puppy stepped onto few of them. It was quite painful to remove them as well.

Great little beaches for people and dogs. Watch out for Speargrass, saw some yesterday right beside the trail that my dog tried to wander into, a lot of people don't know how dangerous it is for dogs. Only gripe is the park apparently closes at 6 PM but I'm unsure because people were showing up at 6 to go swimming. I would stay a little later if I wasn't worried about being locked in. Let me know if you know for sure that they delay locking the gates or check for vehicles...beautiful views and well...

Eagles, wild flowers, water's edge to cliff edge... this is our go-to family walk. I grew up with this place on our radar and it has only improved with age. I think Spring is the best time for Kalamoir as the hill side is covered in bouquets of Arrow-leaf Balsamroot, known by the Okanagan people as Sunflowers. We like to park our car down at the end of Sunnyside Road and then hike the loop starting by the water front and looping up over the vista...
