Alta Lake: Stunning Beauty for All in Whistler

Alta Lake, nestled amidst the majestic mountains of Whistler, offers a scenic escape for visitors of all interests. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect:

Breathtaking Scenery: The centerpiece of the area is the lake itself. Surrounded by towering evergreens and snow-capped peaks, Alta Lake offers a picture-perfect backdrop for any activity.

Year-Round Activities: Whether you visit in summer or winter, Alta Lake has something to offer. During warmer months, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and swimming are popular choices. The well-maintained trail around the lake is perfect for walking, running, or cycling. In winter, the lake transforms into a winter wonderland, ideal for ice skating (conditions permitting) or simply enjoying the snowy scenery.

Relaxation or Adventure: Alta Lake caters to both relaxation and adventure seekers. Lakeside parks offer picnic areas, BBQ grills, and beaches, perfect for a day of lounging and soaking up the sun. For the more adventurous, water sports rentals are available, and the nearby mountains offer hiking and biking trails for all skill levels.

Keep in mind:

Parking: Parking, especially during peak season, can be limited. Consider using the free shuttle service from Whistler Village or cycling to the lake. Limited Amenities: There are a few restaurants and cafes scattered around the lake, but options are limited compared to Whistler Village.

Overall: Alta Lake is a must-visit for anyone exploring Whistler. With its stunning scenery, variety of activities, and relaxed atmosphere, it's a place to unwind, reconnect with nature, or embark on an adventure. Just be prepared for potential crowds and limited amenities compared to the...

An excellent place to cool off and enjoy the beauty of Whistler in the summer. One of the nicer parks in the Whistler area, only a 5-6 Mins drive or 10 minute bike ride from the Village. The parking is free but very limited; there is the roadside parking as well. There are boat rentals (paddle boards/kayak/canoe) available and a small snack bar for cool treats or refreshments. If you get there early you can grab some prime real estate and spend a whole day swimming, paddling, or jumping off the dock or swim platform. There is a small beach area for kids to play, and swim, but there is the chance of swimmers itch so be sure you shower/wash off as soon as your are out...

One of the many parks located on the lake system in Whistler along the Valley Trail. My boys and I walked from Alpha lake along the trail with our dog past nita lake, towards alta lake where Lakeside park is. There is a small facility here to rent watercraft, a small beach and a dock area to swim from and launch toys. You can also purchase nonalcoholic drinks and ice creams from the hut when it gets too hot. Small area, but cozy and nice quiet area to laze around in. Keep walking to get to Alta lake and the village. Great views, great water access, fun...

Great park by the lake for kayaking, canoeing, body boarding, paddleboarding or whatever watersports available in the area. There is a Golden River trail for the water sport lover to go for an adventure but it will take approximately 3.5 hours so better be mindful of the time. It is also great to enjoy some relaxation time by the water in the park for picnic or sun tanning. There is a changing room by the rental place as well as a crepe shop selling snacks Parking spots seem rather limited, better come early than late in the day
