The park itself is incredible. Great playground. The children however were incredibly rowdy and sadly very rude. This isn’t an umbrella statement, as I’m sure there were nice families present as well. But I’ve never witnessed so much rowdiness in one area and we’ve been to MANY playgrounds. We took our son who has ASD to the playground and the amount of shoving, “monkey guarding” and not allowing him to take a turn was insane. What made things worse, were the parents were just sitting around all chatting to each other and not paying any attention. There was also blocking by the slide entrances and laughing at the kids that wanted to come down. Then children blocking the exits. One group of mothers however sitting on the grass were witnessing my son waiting patiently to have a turn on a spinner and when I intervened to give him the speech he needed, the reply from one boy was “maybe in another hour” and he laughed. The mother was sitting right there, not a word about it. So I made sure I expressed that they could all play together. Another group of children (older than him) made fun of my son for wearing glasses. Another told him to move in an agressive tone, so they could sit down where he was standing. Then an older boy took of his shoe and threw it across the playing area. That was it for me, I couldn’t stay any longer. Parents… please raise your children with kindness...
Read moreThis park is really cool. It's a really big park and all my children love gping here, thats including my 17 year old son as well lol. They have a basketball court a water place to run around and get wet to cool down, they also have a mud pit for kids to play in and add tons of water. They have a huge field as well picnic tables for parents and family to sit at lots of places to sit down by the trees in shade or to put a blanket down and have a picnic with the family. It's about a 10 mins walk from my house and they kids always ask to go every few days. They have 2 slides that are really really big and alot of fun to go down them they also have a toddler.park as well where my 2 year old love to play and wants to go down the slide by herself lol. All I have to say is that you need to see it for yourself to understand why it's so fun and just nice to take the kids out to have some fun for...
Read moreGreat park for all ages. It includes a large field, court, path with fitness circuit, large space ship themed play centre for the kids. Would be nice to join outdoor fit classes here from yoga to tai chi or whatever! Generally people are conscientious about keeping clean and picking up after their pets. I do appreciate it while walking with my own shepherd and prefer not to hop between land mines with him as is common on other trails. It is conveniently located in Williamsburg, North West Whitby and has a parking lot for those looking for a change from their own neighbourhood. There aren't many spots for sitting on benches or picnic tables when it gets busy on beautiful weekends, so bring along a camping chair or blanket to enjoy the outdoors. Whitby has a lot of great neighbourhoods with great sidewalks that lead to different style parks and trails. Enjoy...
