My husband and I recently had the privilege of hosting our wedding reception at the Royal Ashburn Golf Club on Aug 6, 2023, and we couldn't have asked for a more enchanting and seamless experience. From the moment we set foot on the property, we knew we were in for something truly special.

One of the standout features of our wedding planning journey was the exceptional guidance and support provided by Lindsey Stevens, our dedicated wedding coordinator. Lindsey's warm and welcoming demeanor immediately put us at ease. She went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our big day was perfectly tailored to our vision. Lindsey's flexibility was nothing short of remarkable; she effortlessly handled last-minute changes and adjustments with a smile, proving her commitment to making our wedding day as magical as possible.

Sowmya Boddu, another valuable member of the Royal Ashburn team, played a pivotal role on the day of our wedding. Her attentiveness and organization were evident as she orchestrated the events of the day flawlessly. Sowmya's professionalism and genuine care made us feel like true VIPs, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the joy of the moment without a worry in the world.

The culinary delights at Royal Ashburn are truly something to behold. Our guests are still raving about the delectable dishes served at our reception. The bocconcini chicken and prime rib were nothing short of culinary masterpieces. The prime rib (which is what I had) was cooked to perfection, was tender and flavorful, leaving a lasting impression on our taste buds. The culinary team's dedication to excellence was evident in every bite, making our wedding reception an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

Royal Ashburn (and specifically Rikki Lund the coordinator) made my big day.

I, like many others, was a COVID bride. I've read the horror stories of some venues and was so thankful that the Royal Ashburn was not one of them. Not only did the answer all of my questions and have supreme patience with me - but they went out of their way to accommodate me through the rollercoaster that was the summer of 2020.

We started off with 150 people, then just 10 for a majority of the summer, then to 50 people outside for only the ceremony, to three weeks before the wedding allowing 50 people inside. Rikki was with me and accommodated my numbers the whole way. It was nice to feel like I had someone on my team. Rikki helped me plan, re-plan and plan again when it came to table positions, numbers and just about everything. I don't know where I would have been without her. She responded to every. single. email. Even I thought at some points I was being excessive.

The food was phenomenal (we had the stuffed chicken and the prime rib), the grounds were clean and beautiful and the service was helpful and friendly. Richard the bar tender deserve special mention. What a beaut! He was so lovely.

I'm going to be honest here - at the tasting in November I wasn't enthralled with the food or wine. I believe they changed chefs though and the food for our reception dinner and wedding was delicious. Everyone finished their plates. I know, I went around and talked to the tables during dinner lol.

I will admit, I was super impressed with the look and convenience of the new cabins (it's where myself, my bridal party and my Moms got ready the morning of) - however I wasn't impressed that it wasn't included in the package, it was very expensive and the rules were very strict. It would have been a great help to have had it as part of the package for the night before/night of. It has 4 double beds, so none of our guests (couples could really stay overnight) and we couldn't use it for our big night unless we wanted to sleep in separate beds). Plus there are no hotels close to the venue - 20 minutes away. It would have been very helpful to at least have a shuttle or something to offer the guests who were drinking.

Overall, my big day was more then I could have expected. I wish I could do it again (with the same guy). We had a grand finale of fireworks, well worth it. Our DJ screwed up the timing for the announcement, but there was Rikki on the phone doing everything she could to make it happen. Sent...

Royal Ashburn Golf Club is the best wedding venue in all of Durham! My husband and I had our wedding there in Sept 2024 - leading up to the wedding, our wedding coordinator Sowmya went above and beyond to quickly answer any and all of our questions and requests including making sure the sky-lights were cleaned and the railing of the outdoor stairs were freshly painted! Their outdoor ceremony spaces are absolutely stunning. It did unfortunately rain on our wedding day but Sowmya made sure we didn't stress in the slightest and had the ceremony set up in one of their indoor locations which ended up looking absolutely beautiful and felt so intimate considering we had over 170 guests! The entire staff at Royal Ashburn made sure that my husband and I didn't have to lift a finger on the day of our wedding - making sure all our vendors were in the right place, helping guide the groomsmen on where to usher people, assisting our bridal party with their walk down the aisle, making sure we were fed and hydrated throughout the day and kept ON TIME with all the events of the day so I didn't have to worry. They even made sure to remind us about sunset photos during dinner service so we didn't miss out on golden hour! Everyone boasted about how delicious their meals were and that they were all served hot, there were no awkward delays in dinner service and they also were amazing at substituting for food allergies as we had quite a few guests with gluten allergies. One of the waitstaff even asked one of our guests that had a gluten and dairy allergy if they had tried the carrot cake from the dessert table (which was gluten and lactose free) and when our guest said no, the waitstaff hand delivered a slice to her and the guest said it was delicious! This just goes to show you that the entire team goes above and beyond and cares about all the little details which, as a detail oriented person, is such a relief when you're planning and organizing a huge event like a wedding.

We also had our rehearsal dinner at their restaurant Farm and Founder the day before the wedding and they went above and beyond for this as well. The food was excellent and they even did custom off-menu cheesy garlic bread for the kiddos!
