We loved hiking here in the winter. The paths are well worn even after a snowfall a few days prior. We hiked on both sides of the canyon for easily 2-3 hours and had spectacular views, I hardly took pictures, but trust me it's breathtaking. We snowshoed from the Chadburn lake road side. The trail was fairly decent, with some spots (closer to the riverbank), which required a bit of care. But definitely avoid this in winter if you have bad knees or other health issues.
