My son been asking to go there for a long time. He is now 6 1/2 years old, and we finally went. He loved it. The staff were gems; positive, friendly and motivating.
My son favorite was the archeological dig.. he still talks about it every time we drive by there. When asked what it was (a find he dug up) he told us that it was a mammouth tooth.. and sure enough, he was right.. just before the dig, he had wandered about and read some descriptions of objects and artifacts where a Mammouth tooth coyld be seen.. his brain registered fast enough.. so he did learn something rigt from the get go

They have a children's corner with more activities than some children's museums: toy animals, puppets, a game to match pelts/paw prints with the animal, computer games specific to Beringia animals, giant floor puzzle and more. Additionally, the docent gave my six year old and my eleven year old age appropriate scavenger hunts that helped them explore the museum. Read moreExcellent. For a small museum it's big on content, value and customer service. Meisha (our guide) was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. We took advantage of the short guided tour/presentation, the movie in their theatre and the spear throwing demonstration later on. Wonderful place. Worth every cent and more of the entrance fee. Don't expect to be all day here but half a day with taking in all the listed programs and maybe taking a packed lunch to have on the desk, if not then you could be...
