Canmore by itself is a hidden treasure with pristine natural beauty. The Nordic Centre is a very interesting place to visit. I learnt a lot about the history of skiing and the awards won by Canada in the past years. There were skiing equipments and clothing that were in use by the champions way back in early 1900's. Just opposite this Centre is a ski rental store. The Nordic Centre has a banquet hall for celebrations,Cafeteria and restrooms. You can get all hiking and tourist information from their reception as well as pay for the Pass to enter Kananaskis. The staff are very helpful and friendly. As there are lots of bears in the area you could get bear sprays and other trekking or cycling items in the store opposite the Nordic Center. The location of the Nordic Centre is picturesque . The hiking and trekking trails are easy to follow . Inside the Centre there is a huge area covered with large windows over looking on to this beautiful mountainous region with its untouched beauty.

Once the site of the Winter Olympics, this park is a great place to visit! Having never been cross country skiing before it was something new and exciting. We rented our skis in town before heading to the lodge to purchase the passes. They were not outlandishly priced and there wasn't much of a line. I would recommend studying the maps and/or chatting with an employee if you've never been to get a feel of where you're heading. We got our legs beneath us a bit in the warm up area in front of the lodge before heading down the trail. THey were groomed quite nicely and we were cruising along in only a few minutes. Everyone was quite friendly along the way even if we fumbled a bit as we tried to step out of the path to let them by. Highly recommend giving this a shot! I wasn't 100% in when my spouse recommended it but was very glad I did it! We wore far too many layers....and were soaked in sweat by the 1/4 point! It's a workout!

In Short:

Riding was great, the bikes are well fitted. We had an accident happen to the bike which was odd, and possibly a fluke. The non-management staff we dealt with could have been better, but the managers made everything alright. We would go back again. Read on for details.

My Girlfriend and I went to the Nordic Centre and rented two full suspension bikes (Rocky Mountains 27.5”). The price was reasonable, and the service was good on the front end. My Girlfriend took the time...

The trails here are fantastic quality, lots of variety and choice, good grooming, and nice views.

The food and coffee at the day lodge are actually also quite good, and the equipmemt shop has a lot of good gear for sale.

However--and this is a big however--the maps and trail markings are some of the worst I've ever seen.

The trails are a complicated spiderweb of interconnected stubs and loops, which wouldn't necessarily be a problem. But the popular loops named on the map (lighted 6.5...

Although the scenery is great the centre has I believe a way to go with customer satisfaction. I was there for a wedding and about 2 min after the ceremony staff were taking chairs down and away, thus having my mother in law of 80+ years getting up and standing while the ceremony was being completed. I carefully looked around to see if another wedding was being set up and there was none to be seen. I understand business but to be that quick seemed a bit unnecessary. We were also told that...
