We visited this garden as a family of five and paid the full entrance fee directly to the owner, who was kind but forgot to give us tickets.
At the end of our visit, the security guard asked for tickets at the exit. The waitress quickly confirmed we had paid, and the matter should have ended there. Instead, a white bartender aggressively confronted my wife, accused us of not paying, and treated us as if we were criminals. Even when my wife offered to show proof of payment on her phone, he kept insisting, humiliating us in front of everyone.
This was not just rude — it was discriminatory and racist. As Black visitors in a majority-Black country, being singled out and treated this way was unacceptable and deeply offensive.
The garden itself is beautiful, but this man’s behavior completely ruined the experience. Management needs to take this seriously: no family should be harassed, accused, or disrespected like this after paying their entrance fee.

Thank you for your message. I understand mistakes can happen with tickets, but that was not the main issue. The problem was the way we were treated: my wife was confronted aggressively and accused of not paying, even when proof was offered. This was humiliating and unacceptable. In front of my children.
My wife cry in this exchange, we speak French, English, Spanish and Portuguese. So we know when there's disrespect in any shape of form. You will not convince us otherwise, there was no misunderstanding, I told him to change his tone and he basically told me to shut up. And funny you said all of this but he's not the one to excuse himself.
You say there is “zero racism,” but regardless of intentions, the way we were singled out and spoken to felt discriminatory. Respectful communication matters, especially in front of children and other guests. I hope you reflect seriously on this, because no paying visitor should ever leave your garden...
Read moreGreat place to go with young children or even as a couple. There's a pleasant cafe nestled amongst a Bahama themed region of the park of which you can relax and enjoy the sound of the wind in the palm trees. The refreshments are very reasonably priced but there's not a vast amount of food choices. Some of the animals there are rescued and it is nice to see that attempts are being made to give them the correct care and attention needed. Be warned, the monkey is exceptionally cunning and uses an element of cuteness coupled with appearing to be struggling finding something in the rocks which are imediatly outside the enclosure fence. This is purely just to get you to bend down to help him! As you do so, he jumps up on to the fence and attempts to steal what ever he can from you! It's hilarious how well thought through his plan is and you really shouldn't let your guard down around him! The younger female, who is in a separate enclosure is totally different and really enjoys a scratch and a stroke. One of the African Gray parrots also enjoys a good scratch on its knock... You will know which one as it pokes it's head out through the mesh... Had a nice morning there and would certainly...
Read moreBeautiful Botanical garden to visit with lovely green grass to relax on. The work these guys do rescuing the animals in need on this island is phenomenal. The animals have such personalities and made the visit fun, the monkeys soul really shone through and made us laugh a lot. The baby goats are domesticated and loved a good chin scratch. The cactus garden was nice to walk through and we saw some great wildlife throughout. There were many animals on site including tortoises, donkeys, goats, peacocks, macaws and other birds, goats, monkeys, chickens, horses etc not to mention the wild bugs you can see here such as spiders and praying mantis etc. The cafe has some delicious drinks which are reasonably priced and there are a decent range of choices, I highly recommend the passion fruit drink - it was very refreshing and flavourful. The lady working in the cafe was lovely, friendly and informative about the animals on site and the work they do to keep the park running. Everyone agreed this was a great visit, you can spend anywhere from 30 minutes here or the entire afternoon if you want an exciting but calming environment to relax in. We will definitely be back the next time we...
