Created by the collapse of the cliff, this calm pool is in stark contrast with the rough see right next to it. The way the cliff caved in created a beautiful jumping opportunity, or even the chance to do a summer salt if you’re a daredevil. For those who just want to take a swim, it still offers an amazing experience. The water is clear and there are some fish so snorkeling is definitely a cool option. But also, you’re swimming in a cave, sort of. That alone is pretty cool so I would definitely recommend going. Somehow this place also feels less crowded and touristy compared to most other places on the island. That is not to say there aren’t large groups of people stopping by every now and then, but if you plan on staying here for a little longer, you will definitely have moments where you’re either alone or almost alone. To get there just drive to the goldmine ruins and look for a small ladder sticking out above the cliff. It is easy to miss so look closely. When you get down, it is best to bring some shoes you can wear while swimming as the rocks can hurt your feet when you’re walking barefoot. And lastly, a small bridge has been built to cross from the side to a rock laying a bit more centered in the pool that also has a better access point to the pool for anyone who doesn’t want to jump. This bridge can be slippery, so keep that in mind. Have a...
Read moreTook me about 20-25 minutes to get there from the low rise hotels All the reviews say to arrive before 10 am and they were right. At just around 10 am, it gets real crowded, real quick. Honestly, I would get there by 9am so you have some time to jump off the ledge and swim around. I highly recommend water shoes with a good grip-the cheapos don't have a good grip and that can be a bit dangerous here. You have to climb down a 10 foot ladder to a rocky area that could be jagged in some spots. Once your down the ladder and moving across the rock, it gets easier, but it could be real slippery. The cave pool is real cool-very clear, fish swimming, purple rock and a nice high ledge to jump off of into the pool. It's a cool thing to do and you do not need a guide. Just proceed with caution and...
