If you liked this magical tour. Leave a ❤️ and a comment 🥰 it means a lot to us 😇 These caves are something like we've never seen before 🌟 so magical. The crystal clear water. With the perfect reflection in our. Made us feel submerged in this fantasy world. With no sound it felt unreel at times 💜 We went into the cave with a narrow boat. And had to duck several times because the ceiling was so low. There are many chambers and tunnels to visit. The caves are called Caves of Diros💜 Our advice is go to the beach nearby. Walk to the caves and ask about the water level. We had to wait 1 week for the water level too lower. If it's too high and you have the time. You can wait. If not. You can still go into the caves by boat. But you'll get a short tour of 10 minutes instead of 30. We've heard from people the short tour was still worth it 🌟 . . . . #greecetravel #travellife #cavetour #touristicplaces #greecelover #exploregreece #traveladventure

The Caves of Diros in Greece are nothing short of spectacular. From the moment you embark on the boat tour through the crystal-clear waters, you're transported into another world. The geological formations are mesmerizing, with stalactites and stalagmites forming intricate patterns that look almost otherworldly. The guide was knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights into both the history and the geology of the caves, making the experience both educational and awe-inspiring. The ambiance inside the cave is serene, with only the gentle sound of water and the occasional drip from the formations breaking the silence. The boat ride itself is smooth and well-managed, ensuring safety while allowing you to fully immerse in the beauty around you. Photography enthusiasts, bring your cameras! The lighting within the cave creates an ethereal glow that makes for some stunning shots. However, nothing beats the experience of seeing it with your own eyes - the colors, the reflections, and the scale of the place are truly breathtaking. The tour is well-organized, with clear instructions and respect for the environment evident throughout. It's clear they're committed to preserving this natural wonder for future generations. If you're in the Mani Peninsula, do not miss the opportunity to visit the Caves of Diros. It's an adventure that combines natural beauty, history, and a touch of mystery that will leave you in wonder long after you've returned to the surface. Highly recommended for all ages!

It is a beautiful cave, which unfortunately is the victim of its popularity. I've been in a few deep caves in Northern California. Duros is at least on par with them in its beaty, probably a little better. Also, it being flooded gives it more charm. To avoid long wait in the ticket office and parking problems, try to come early, before the busses. Park close to the ticket office first, and by the tickets. Then, drive down another few hundred meters and find parking near the entrance There is a bathroom and a snack barr there. Present your ticket at the entrance. Here, you will need to wait another few minutes before a group of 5 or 6 people for a boat is formed. Overall, with the ticket buying, I waited for about 30 minutes. The entrance fee is 12 euro when they do a short boat loop and 17 for a long loop. They say the water level is high today, and they do a short loop. Well, it is beautiful but ridiculously short. Feels like 10 min atmost. The boat men gave information during the trip, but all in Greek. Just enjoy the beaty. When the boat part is over, you walk through the cave to the exit. This walk is also beautiful. Overall, I think the cave was worth the Ling drive and antrance fee. Keep in mind, if you take a bus tour, everything will be even slower for you, as you need to wait until the entire group is ready.

The caves themselves deserve 5*, they are spectacular, and there's something magical about visiting them aboard a boat, sliding through the still water. We were lucky enough to visit them ALONE, just the two of us and the driver. Unfortunately, as others have mentioned, the total lack of information on the caves, their history, etc., as well as the drivers' "let's get this over with" attitude, really take away from the overall experience. Unfriendly and very rushed. We would have appreciated the possibility of standing still for just 10" here and there to appreciate the surroundings, or advancing at a slower pace to be able to focus more on the caves and less on ducking and dodging stalactites (which it sometimes seemed like the driver steered towards intentionally). Judging by the construction work underway to improve and expand the facilities aimed at tourists, this is an important source of income for the area. They'd do well to give better treatment to the people who their livelihood depends on. But this place is a must-see and they know it, so unfortunately, they think they can do as they please. Still worth a visit in low season, but based on the amount of row boats that were parked at the entrance of the cave, in summer this place just be a circus, and I wonder whether it's actually worth it in high season.

We brought our family here today for a very enjoyable day trip. We had to wait around 15 minutes before entering the cave. The staff here is NOT friendly (actually quite grumpy)… didn't bother us though because are we there to make friends? I apologize to the 2 ladies sitting behind us in our boat… if our 3 children interfered with your tranquil experience--- It seemed like no one in the other boats were talking. Are you supposed to be silent? At 1 point I thought it would be helpful if the tour guide Davison information about the cave come up but I guess that's not in his job description. Towards the end he warmed up a bit and started talking to us about his experiences in the cave. I wish she spoke more during the time we were in the cave. The cave inside is absolutely gorgeous. I've read a bunch of reviews from other caves and I'm happy to say that they have preserved this cave very well- You are not allowed to touch anything when you are in the boat and when you're walking there are restrictions on where you can go. We had a very memorable experience and took lots of pictures. Thank you for making such great memories from our family!

Nice cave, cause of high water we could just do the small tour with about 10min being in the boat. The long tour should be about 15-20min longer. The Gondoliers did speak a little English and were telling very few facts about how the cave was found and the naming of stalactites and stalagmites. The dry section (300m and around 20min walking) you do on your own, so no further info then. The dry section is highly decorated but very green'ish and parts are even dark or black'ish which results from too much people touching stuff or over the years too much bacteria brought to the cave through installation of light, repairing and of course tourists. So, is the cave worth the money? I would say no, if that small tour would be 6-8€ and the long tour 12€ I would say yes. We had long really good informed tour guide in the "Perama Cave" in north of Greece for 8€ with a 45min tour in a non green'ish cave. If you have seen some caves before, skip that one. If you are new in caves, especially with inside water, give it a try with a long tour (when the water level is low enough).
