Our visit to the Cayman Parrot Sanctuary was a unique, engaging experience. Despite its small size and the relatively high price, the diversity of animals and the chance to interact with them made it a memorable outing.

Pros: The admission fee contributes significantly to the conservation and upkeep of the wildlife, making it a worthwhile cost. The sanctuary was well-kept and the animals appeared content, showing their commitment to animal welfare. Staff members were friendly, happily allowing us to feed and pet the birds and guinea pigs. A surprising diversity of animals, including parrots, cockatoos, guinea pigs, and reptiles. Feeding the cockatoos from your hand in their cage is a must-do. They are adorable!

Cons: The sanctuary is relatively small and the admission fee might feel high for the size, but the interactive experience and conservation aspect justifies the cost.

In conclusion, the Cayman Parrot Sanctuary is a must-visit if you are on the island. You'll enjoy an unforgettable interaction with a variety of animals while supporting...

This is a nice place for viewing rescued parrots, other birds and animals. We went on May 15 at 9am to avoid the worst of the heat but nevertheless, it was still quite hot. Lots of interesting things to see and really nice staff. Feeding the agouti was fun - a delightful cayman "bunny". My wife fell down the concrete steps of the turtle exhibition and really tore up her knee and arm. The stairs had no handrail and the steps were taller than normal. The staff was excellent at taking care of my wife, cleaning her wounds, etc. Still, she had to go to the Emergency Room the next day to get properly bandaged, a tetanus shot and antibiotics. We are grateful the Sanctuary covered all her medical expenses. Unfortunately, this injury prevented her from getting into the water for the rest...

Hidden gem! The team of handlers are so gracious and accommodating. This is a great place for young families and people who just like critters in general. They helped us hold guinea pigs, my sister's favorite was Vanilla, while my daughter had fun snuggling little Bear. Then we had cockatiels fly to our hands for seeds. I loved seeing the Cayman parrots; two who had been released back unto the wild stopped by to chat with old friends! The Cayman Agouti was interesting as well, kind of a cross between a rabbit/guinea pig/rat, similar to a capybara but smaller. Also they let people handle several snakes (not me, thank you very much). And they have a zipline for smaller kids under 75 lbs and small playground. Free lemonade & iced...

Dropped into the Cayman Parrot Sanctuary on a Friday morning. Not too busy. The person taking our admission also happened to be the official zookeeper, Regina Nowak. Once inside, she found the time to show us the star attraction, Lil 'bit, a cute little Agouti that we proceeded to hand feed. We talked about the operations of the rescue centre and then were guided into the parrot enclosure to hand feed the parrots too! We didn't have too much time to stay but she made sure that we experienced everything and answered all our questions. This is a great operation doing a lot of good so look at your admission fee as supporting something very worthy. Lots for everyone to see and experience. Plan at least one hour to experience it all.
