Cayman's Oasis: Where Sand Outshines Spend

Stepping onto Spotts Public Beach in Cayman Islands, it feels like discovering Earth's best-kept secret. A realm where golden sands meld with horizon, accompanied by an orchestra of whispering palms. While the allure of the natural landscape here is undeniable, one doesn't need to splurge on the overpriced transats; the canopy of palms offers a complimentary, serene shelter. The heartwarming locals, offering refreshing coco juices and tantalizing meats, only amplify the experience.

While the beach excels in natural beauty, a touch of value refinement, especially regarding prices, would make this an undeniable five-star spot. That being said, for a getaway that intertwines nature with authentic local flair, Spotts Public Beach beckons.

Until the next sandy...

We came here after a local told us this is the place to go to see turtles. I read to come in the late afternoon or early morning, we came around 3 and snorkeled and saw a decent size stingray. The water was kinda choppy so we took a break. Around 4 we went back in and saw 2 turtles. We probably would have seen more, but the water was rough and was taking a lot of energy out of us swimming. Qs others have said, not a beginner snorkel spot. I brought a little floating to help. Like other reviews said, to the right or left of the peer. Swim just past the dense grass to where it's more clear and you can see the bottom sand and you will definitely see fish and turtles! I wish we came here more than once. It was amazing to swim and watch them in their...

It turn out to be very disappointing. Not because of its natural beauty but because of the most dangerous predator on earth: People! What could be a heaven turn out to be an outdoor trash bin. This is a place where turtles go to nest, where corals are marine life habitats but instead it is full of plastic and other debris. Plastic bottles, lighters, crocs, plastic spoons, straws, you name it. Not to mention the tiny plastics that you find on the sand and in the water which will end up inside fishes and turtles. Besides this, which doesn't seem very important to most of the visitors, there is a parking lot, 1 portable wc, and a pic nic area. I hope local authorities have the initiative to start to clean the area or do...

A beautiful white sand beach with plenty of palm tree shade cover and picnic tables for a sea side picnic. A sturdy pier provides a great platform for sun tanning or dipping your toes for a temperature check. There is a single Port-a-John available, located in the parking lot. The parking lot is small (in size and number of available parking spaces) and fills up quickly. Spott's is a perfect beach to relax, suntan and snorkel. The beach has a sandy bottom with a moderate amount of sea grass but no rocky areas to navigate. Sea turtles frequent the area and can be easily be seen by snorkeling. Aside from the beach at Starfish Point, this is a great alternative to the more popular and busy beaches on Grand Cayman.
