This is a scenic area/park that has a hot spring facility within. I recommend you get the ticket that includes the bath access and noodles. You can tour the park and see the waterfalls and geysers during the day, then after the crowds from the tour buses leave at 5:30pm, start heading towards the hot spring baths. The bath facility is pretty cool with lots of different baths under the open sky and manicured landscaping. At night, under a starry sky when few ppl are there, it feels like your own private luxury hot springs. Afterwards, head towards the restaurant for the included noodle soup which is a specialty of the region and surprisingly good for a free item.
If I have any complaints it's that the front area of the park is kinda trashy feeling with a mess of vendors selling misc junk. But overall, the hot spring baths and scenery...
