A very pleasant experience, though the prairie wind was blowing at full force from midday till dusk on the day of my visit. Fortunately, when I got up at 5am to see the sunrise, the wind had died down. There was only one other visitor who had the conviction to rise so early. We did have company, nonhuman ones. Roughly a dozen horses were seen having their early breakfast, munching nonstop at the tastiest, tenderest grass. Standing on the edge of an observation platform, I looked to the farthest my eyes could take me, turned my head full left, then full right and full left again. I genuinely felt the quietness and vastness, and of course the beauty, of the great plains. First, the facility is great. The hotel, restaurant public toilet is very well maintain. The hotel mostly come in the form oh Mongolia house (蒙古包).
