Olympic Forest Park in Beijing is a good place. The tower stands tall, proud, and it glows at night with lights like something from a dream. You walk there and the world feels still. Trees rustle. The path is quiet. Down by the river, frogs call out. Many of them. It sounds like old songs, like the land is speaking. It’s simple. It’s calm. You feel small in a good way. Den Olympic Tower mit seinen Ringen am Dach und der magischen nächtlichen Beleuchtung kann man sich in Peking kaum entziehen. An meinem letzten Abend habe ich es doch noch geschafft, die Plattform in gut 250 Metern Höhe zu erreichen. Nach einer Registrierung (Pass oder ein anders offizielles Ausweisdokument nicht vergessen!) und einem Sicherheitscheck bringt einem ein Aufzug auf 228 Meter höhe. Dort beginnt im inneren vorbei an einer imposanten Glasfront der Aufstieg auf die gut 25 Meter weiter oben gelegene freie Aussichtsplattform. Hier ist der Blick Einmalig!
