Hotels are available on the island. Restaurants serving both meat/seafood or vegetarian. There are a lot of local handiwork, soverniers about Putuoshan and the surrounding temples.
Don't miss the internal bus trip to the Guanyin shrine statue, need to walk around few hundred meters uphill, there are some rest spots along the way. Spectacular view of Nanhai Guanyin ! There are many local and foreign devotees offering their prayers.
Don't miss the uphill walk towards "San Chai temple". For elderly, it's advisable to go together with younger brothers or sisters as the uphill walk is steep and tiring. Advisable to carry along water bottle to prevent dehydration. Summer season - temperature can be hot, one might prefer Spring or Autumn.
This is my 3rd visit to Putuoshan in Sept 2023.
Local bus trips are available from Ningbo City terminal to Putuoshan and vice versa.
