Went through the back mountain enterance. It’s best to take a DiDi or bus to the shuttle location and just take the specific “back mountain enterance shuttle” to get there. Taking a DiDi to the mountain enterance is going to be more expensive and when you try to order a DiDi to it they will more than likely try and add their own extra fare on top of what DiDi charges you. So it’s best to just take the shuttle and not have to haggle with them. Most DiDi drivers will not want to go up to the mountain because it takes about 40min-1hr depending on traffic and they complain that they will have an empty car coming back down which is understandable. When taking the shuttle back down make sure you give yourself enough time because they don’t leave until the set time they are set to leave at (which isn’t posted) or they leave when the bus is full. So give yourself enough time to get back. On the hike you’ll see many different little shops on the way up to the waterfall so you don’t have to worry too much about not having any water or snacks. Also I did the walk up but I took the cable car back down because the hike to the summit was about 2.5hrs with frequent stops for photos and breaks.

The Qianshan - the Front mountain of Mt Qingcheng is famous among many local Chinese travelers. My home is in Chengdu and it is near this mountain. Many years ago I took my family to visit this mountain, but frankly even though it is beautiful, it is not as beautiful as the back mountain of Mt Qingcheng, especially if you travel here with young kids, we would recommend the Back mountain because the scenery is more beautiful, with more springs, water fall views. However the front mountain of Qingcheng has steeper hiking trails, and more taoism temples to visit, if you focus on some cultural and hiking experience, you can come here. The entrance tickets fee is RMB 90 per person, but the back mountain is only RMB20 per person. You need to prepare your passports with valid China visa stamped, and during the COVID19 period, you may need to provide the green health card. Hope this helps international travelers.

Home of Taoism, would be better to visit when it's not shrouded in cloud and mist and rain! Very busy, lots of queues, lots of walking, cable car for last section after the short boat ride (half way up!)
