Amazingly friendly service and experience! Our personal guide and chef teacher, Molly, took me and my girlfriend on a nice little historical journey on Sichuan cooking, then we went to pray at the Kitchen God, before finally on to the main cooking event! Molly and the assistant chefs (yes, there were 3-4 assistant chefs just waiting on us, despite being a group of 2), where we cooked kung pao chicken, ma po tofu, and panda dumpling desserts. Everything was so clean and well prepared that although this was my *first time cooking anything* it came out delicious and the experience really moved me. At the end, after eating our dinner in private within the gardens, Molly and the Executive Chef presented us a fun little award ceremony as rookie chefs. Then Molly personally walked us to the bus station and waited until we boarded. My girlfriend and I both feel so touched. This is without a doubt the best cooking experience ever!

I loved the we got to dress up as cooks and prepared the famous chicken Sichuan style. That was quite an experience. However our tour guide in the museum was speaking way too fast and for some of our group it was difficult to follow her instructions while cooking. I also did not like the tour she gave us. It was very speedy and not very interesting, to be honest. Things which we found interesting and asked about- she couldn't answer. At least she was honest about it and didn't give us some misinformation. I still give this place 4 Stars though because if you will explore it on your own or you get lucky with your tour guide- this place is definitely worth visiting!

What a wonderful way to get to know the local cuisine and history behind the food. The museum tour was enjoyable. Sampling the "snacks" was a joy as they were tasty and abundant. The cooking class was a lot of fun and educational. Expect to have your photos taken by a museum employee then emailed to you. We left with our stomachs full and smiles on our faces. I recommend this to any level of food enthusiast. Chili paste and other small gift items are available for sale near the soy sauce and chili paste vats.
