Basongcuo Scenic Spot — Attraction in Congo

I imagine this can get packed in the high season. It's about 30km from the highway to get here but on a sunny day it's worth the detour.

The lake itself is large and you can take tours on the lake. There is a small island which you can walk to. There is a small temple on the island and some nice walks along the side of the lake.

On a clear day there are some beautiful snow capped mountains at the end of the lake.

You'll need to park you car at the entrance to the scenic area and then take a shuttle bus to the island. You'll need to walk down a number of steps to get to the lakeside.
