Khunjerab Pass, situated at the border of Pakistan and China, is a remarkable and awe-inspiring destination that leaves a lasting impression on any traveler fortunate enough to venture to this remote location. This high mountain pass, standing at an elevation of 4,693 meters (15,397 feet), not only connects the two nations but also connects visitors with the raw, unspoiled beauty of the natural world. As you ascend to Khunjerab Pass, the journey itself is an adventure. The winding road takes you through the Khunjerab National Park, a sanctuary for diverse wildlife, including the elusive snow leopard and the majestic Marco Polo sheep. The ever-changing landscape features lush meadows, pristine rivers, and towering mountains that are often capped with snow, creating a postcard-perfect scene around every turn. The air at Khunjerab is thin and crisp, and the climate can be quite harsh, with chilly temperatures even in the summer. However, the view from the pass is nothing short of mesmerizing. The surrounding peaks, including the mighty Kunlun Mountains and the Karakoram Range, provide a stunning backdrop, and the glacial river running alongside the pass adds to the allure. Visitors often find themselves in awe of the vastness and grandeur of the Khunjerab region. The stillness of the surroundings and the sense of isolation create a serene and contemplative atmosphere. It's a place to reflect, appreciate the beauty of untouched nature, and escape from the noise and chaos of urban life. Khunjerab Pass is not only a testament to the natural world's splendor but also a symbol of international connection and cooperation, as it marks the border between Pakistan and China. Travelers can even get their passports stamped here, a unique souvenir of their journey. For those who seek adventure, nature, and a profound sense of wonder, Khunjerab Pass is an absolute must-visit. It's a place where the majesty of the Earth is on full display, where the boundaries between nations fade in the face of the boundless beauty of our planet. This is a destination that reminds us of the power and grandeur of the natural world, leaving a lasting imprint on all who have the privilege to experience it.

(Visited Date: 14-Aug-2023.) Khunjrab Pass is situated at last point of Gilgit–Baltistan Hunza-Nagar District Pakistan. Khunjerab Pass or Pak China border is the point where the highest paved international road, the Karakorum Highway, enters China, connecting the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China and Gilgit-Baltistan of Pakistan. It is one of the world's highest altitude passes, with breathtaking views and charming Yaks. It is a carpet road that any vehicle can use to reach Khunjrab Pass. There is an entry ticket for Khunjrab National Park because it is located within it. Due to the strong winds and cold breeze, one should carry a warm jacket or cap. Sost city is the final destination where you may refuel and eat. The journey is really lovely. Once you reach the top, do not run or exert yourself; instead, take a moderate walk and breathe properly. It is recommended due to high altitude unique cloud formation and beautiful landscape. It is also called life time experience of anyone when he/she few step away from border but could not pass it without visa and polices. :'(

Khunjrab pass is a Pak China border in the North of Pakistan and in the West of China. This pass is a milestone for the Pak China friendship, it's the pass from CPEC crossing and a hub of pak China business. A very beautiful place where a lot of people come here every year just for visiting and enjoying nature. From Pakistan Susat is the last city and other areas are declared National parks. There are very low temperatures recorded during winter ❄️❄️🥶🥶 there is a lot of snow everywhere due to very low temperature in the winter this pass closed for all type of activities for few months. That is the only road connecting Pakistan and China through the land. I visited in 2019 before the COVID in summer with my friends, we enjoyed a 10 day trip We visited a lot of other tourists points on the way including Naran, Kagan valley, Gilgit, Hunza and some other places as well. Today i just saw these pictures and i feel that joy in England. May Allah bless Pakistan with peace and growth Ameen.💕

I went to Hunza and Naltar for 8 days and dedicated one for Khunjerab Pass. You need a full day for a round trip to and from Hunza. Drive is awesome. Just check before leaving about land sliding as many of my hotel mates got stuck in landslide for 6 hours and ran out of food and water. So go there well prepared and to face any situation like this. Take fuel or any food item from SOST as it is the last town before reaching Khunjerab top. There are not too many shops there so do not expect to shop from there. Its an amazing place with snow covered mountains all around. These days ( Aug 2021) they wont let you go near the Border crossing and will stop you 1--2 min walk away from the border crossing. couple of hours are enough there but its all about the journey time from Hunza. Again go there well prepared, food, water and an extra layer of clothing in case of snow there. Highly recommended ! Irfan Ahmad Level 7 Google Local Guide Insta : Irfanstraveldiary

I recently visited the China border on my 125cc bike, starting from Lahore, and this was my final stop after covering the entire northern side. One important tip for bikers planning such a trip: make sure your bike is in perfect condition and that you have enough petrol. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize the importance of this, and my bike got punctured on the way back from the border. To make things worse, I underestimated my fuel needs, thinking I had enough petrol after Sost. However, the road to the border is mostly steep, which makes the bike consume fuel faster. Just 4–5 km away from the border, my bike started misfiring and shutting off repeatedly. I even reached a point where I thought about quitting. Despite this, I kept pushing myself to complete the journey because it was my last stop and a small dream I wanted to achieve. Though challenging, I made it to the border, and it was all worth it in the end.
