Visiting Heilongjiang in winter, is not completed without visiting Xue Xiang (Snow Town). We visited the Snow Town by bus from Harbin, about 280km. The Snow Town only open on the winter, about 4 months in the year. The temperature of the Snow Town is around minus 25 to minus 35 degree Celcius, quite extreme for me, who lives at a tropical country with the sun shining all the year. When winter comes, the snow here can up to 2metres.
We lived in local residents’s house, they provide a room for 2 or 4 peoples with a private bathroom, some of them provide dinner and breakfast. We can be surrounded this place by walking, where there’re many souvenirs booth, snacks and show. Don’t forget to take the pictures that everyone do 😊 throwing the bottled of boiled water into the air which will immediately freeze due the very colf temperature.

There's a Starbucks also, surprisingly. Sledge rides with choice of dog or reindeer pulled. Home stay type accomodations are abundant although you pay 5 star price for a 2 star accomodation. Understandbly so as they can only earn 5 months during winter with little or no business for the rest of the year. Given its location in the cold mountains, it is hard for resources to get there thus things are more expensive compared to other areas in Harbin.
