The Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves, while historically significant, can be quite disappointing for visitors. Many of the original murals have suffered extensive damage over the centuries due to vandalism and theft, leaving only a fraction of their former glory. Most caves are closed to the public. Additionally, the lack of informative signage makes it challenging to appreciate the historical context without a guide. Overall, while the caves hold cultural importance, the visitor experience leaves much...

Another nature and man-made wonder. Awesome! Art relics and paintings on caves' wall. The caves were dugged out of mountains by monks where they lived and meditated. Extremely hot on the day we visited this place. Not much to see. It's a sad story that people from western countries stole so many important historical pieces from China. Hope to see those pieces return to where they belong.

Cultural Buddha site from 6-7 BC. Some areas had been enlarged until 12 Century. Larger parts of the paintings had been stolen and sold to European Museums. Ideal visiting time in the morning or late afternoon.
