龙脊梯田 — Attraction in Guilin

Beautiful rice terraces. They have an upper trail and a lower trail. The upper trail has two scenic outposts where you can look down onto the rice fields. The lower trail leads you right into the rice terraces, eventually ending at a quaint town below. Both trails offer breathtaking views. Recommend you walk both trails.

The restaurants in the town below are mostly empty, but no need to worry. They make everything from scratch, plus they were farm-to-table long before it became popular in the states. The food is pretty good and extremely reasonable.

At night, they light up the rice terraces with lights and you can walk among the lights. You'll need a flashlight because the steps are uneven, but definitely worth the experience.

The scenery changes constantly, so you have to be patient. But the picture opportunities are amazing.

Recommend to book your hotel within the rice terraces, because it is much more tranquil in the evening when most of the tourists leave.

The extraordinary thing about this place is that they flood the rice fields even during the off season for the tourist to enjoy.

Truly a magical place. Highly recommend spending several days here.

I visited in May 2019, and it was just before the monsoon season. I stayed at the da zhai (大寨) village, which was less touristy and crowded. It was a really good experience to immerse myself in nature. The hiking trails were doable, although it took a couple of hours with stops along the way for pictures. Also saw many free-roaming chickens along the way, something out of the ordinary. Will definitely recommend staying 2-3 nights to get a more wholesome experiment out of the trip, and to allow additional time to visit...

What a view, spectacular in fact it looks like a painting 3/D from the top of the mountain. It's a little scarry at first but once your on its all good. The staff are a bit rough upon entering and exciting but they do this to guide you on & off the chair lift safely. A really amazing place to visit, take plenty film with you. Overall : Unforgettable ! The reason I selected to buy your tickets there, who's in a hurry. Just wait! You will need your ID to purchase tickets...
