The Aberdeen Country Park is a 4.23 sq km park on the south side of Hong Kong Island that was opened to the public in 1931. It stretches from Aberdeen town, past two small reservoirs and up the slope to the Wan Chai Gap. It is a nice rural area that includes plenty of leisure and outdoors space, BBQ areas as well as a handful of short, relatively easy hikes for Hongkongers to enjoy. The trails in Aberdeen Country Park are in good condition and there is nice vegetation and scenery throughout. Around the two lakes, you can enjoy seeing a handful of interesting declared monument buildings and structures related to the reservoirs. Most interesting are the Aberdeen Upper Reservoir Dam as well as the bridge situated just below. A popular hike here is to take in the Fitness and or Nature trail and then to hike up/down the Reservoir Road to the Wan Chai Gap. From here you can connect with other trails or The Peak Road up to Victoria Peak as well as the Wan Chai Green Trail or Bowen Road, making your way down to the city on the north side of the Peak.

Aberdeen Country Park 香港仔郊野公園 is a 423 hectare hiking area that is perfect for relaxing hikes with a good dose of serene greenery and great scenery. Personally, recommend the route starting from Gough Hill Path on the Peak down Peel Rise through Hong Kong Trail Section 3 that will take you to the Aberdeen Reservoirs. This is an easy to moderately challenging hiking experience, and it’s nice that there were a not a whole lot of hikers all the way to the Ginger Flower Stream even on a weekend so all’s quiet and serene. Then it gets busier after the route peels westward towards Upper Aberdeen Reservoir, but the plus point is that this is where you get nice views and notable landmarks.

I love getting out to the bush and this trail has to be one of my favourites in HK. I generally start the trail at Black's Link and do a loop around Lady Clementi's, crossing Aberdeen Country Park. The entire trial is approximately 11ks. It has a little bit of everything, streams, mountains, rocks, concrete paths and at times lots of mud! In summer there are tons of spiders but they generally stay off the trail. In 12 years of running this trail I've only encountered 1 snake.

This is one of the shorter trails through Hong Kong Island. However from Wan Chai to Aberdeen or the otherway, you need to be prepared for a very steep climb. In some parts the slope can hit around forty degrees. Take water and maybe a drying face towel and keep going, it's an amazing journey. 1.5 to 3 hours depending on how much you stop to investigate plants and wildlife, etc.

This is a very nice place to hike or to do jogging. Not crowded and quite. Not so many views from the top, but on the way are two reservoirs. You can see wild pigs, but no worries, they are affiliated already :). More bbq places on the way. The best way to get there is probably by taxi, or you will have to walk uphill for like 10 min.

We entered Aberdeen Country Park via Black’s Line, headed to Mount Cameron. There was a long ascending concrete rode with woods on both sides. I also met two cute cats along the trail& cooled myself down with the spring. The views to Cameron were amazing! I also saw eclipse up on the peak!

Description
Aberdeen Country Park is located on the south end of Hong Kong Island near the area called Aberdeen, Hong Kong. Much of the south side of the island is underdeveloped and retains more of the rural feel that predominated on the island before it was settled by the British. The park extends to Wan Chai Gap on the north.
