Im Donglin-Tempel ist die Statue von Amitabha, auch „Unendliches Licht“ genannt. Der Donglin-Tempel liegt im Kreis Xingzi in der ostchinesischen Provinz Jiangxi. Die 48 Meter hohe Buddha Statue im Donglin-Tempel gilt als die höchste ihrer Art weltweit. Der Bau kostete 1 Milliarde Yuan, umgerechnet ca. 162 Millionen US-Dollar und für die Vergoldung wurden 48 Kilogramm Gold verwendet. Der Bau endete 2013 und die Gelder für die Statue kamen von Schülern und Philanthropen aus der ganzen Welt. Der Donglin-Tempel liegt am nordwestlichen Hang des Berges Lushan und wurde erstmals von Huiyuan, einem bekannten Mönch der östlichen Jin-Dynastie, er lebte von 317 – 420 , erbaut.
