The Bailong Elevator, also known as the Hundred Dragons Elevator, is a glass elevator located in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area of China's Hunan province. The elevator is built into the side of a steep cliff face and is known for its stunning views and impressive engineering.

The Bailong Elevator is the world's tallest outdoor elevator, standing at a height of 326 meters (1,070 feet). It takes visitors to the top of the cliff, where they can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the famous quartz-sandstone pillars of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.

While the elevator ride is relatively short, it is an exhilarating experience, as visitors are transported vertically up the side of the cliff. The glass walls of the elevator provide a stunning view of the surrounding scenery and the sheer drop below, making it a popular attraction for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike.

Despite its impressive height and engineering, the Bailong Elevator has come under criticism for its impact on the surrounding environment. However, efforts have been made to minimize the impact of the elevator on the natural landscape, including the installation of solar panels and the use of environmentally-friendly materials in its construction.

Overall, the Bailong Elevator is a unique and thrilling experience that offers visitors a breathtaking view of one of China's most beautiful...

Lots of people were 'queueing' for the elevator. After walking for a few minutes across a few corridors and crowded into an elevator which brings us up,we finally reached the bottom of Bailong Elevator. As we pushed into the elevator,I was excited for the scenery.I was about to observe. However,I could not get a good view inside the elevator through the glass windows, and in less than a minute, the ride was over and we have arrived at the top already. The overall experience was only satisfactory.Could understand that the government built this elevator sticking to a cliff to attract tourists, and oh my,it was successful. With loads of tourists swarming into Bailong Elevators,it is one of the most popular attractions...

Tips for visiting Zhangjiajie - National Forest Park: take the cable car up to Tianzi Shan. Take the public bus (around 40 mins with a transfer) to Yuanjiajie. Take the Bailong elevator down. DO NOT take the Bailong elevator up or you’ll be waiting forever - Tianmen Shan: select route A . . . #zhangjiajie #hunan #changsha #tlbtips #avatarmoutain

The ride in the Bailong elevator in Zhangjiajie is definitely an interesting experience. There was no Queue during the end of March period thus you can have a quick ride - nevertheless the walk to the elevator is quite long. Despite the high speed, you can hardly feel the change in elevation- truly amazing. However you can only understand this majestic technical structure when you go to a place opposite known as Garden in the Sky (Kong Zhong Dian Yuan). Do make this trip if you have time - they plant some crops in a beautiful pattern high in the mountain!
