Exploring Kashgar Old City is a delightful experience, as it has largely escaped the destruction seen in many other Chinese cities during Chairman Mao's Cultural Revolution. The city exudes a distinct Middle Eastern cultural influence, offering not only enjoyable moments but also a glimpse into a unique heritage. As we appreciate the local cuisine and vibrant atmosphere, there's a shared hope that the residents won't face hardships akin to the historical events, such as the Sichuan...

While it's fascinating-see videos, it's a pity that it has been rebuilt resembling a Disney park. Visit now when you will still be able to walk through numerous bazaars and see a vibrant community. To bear in mind: there are both clean, free toilets and ATM that work with international cards. Most of the shops sell souvenirs. This is not the ideal place to show in China for manufactured products. The handmade knives are both great and a bargain, but the Chinese Post Office will not mail it overseas.
