This place is closed from 4 November to 31 January. I searched before I went online just in case, only said operating hours were shortened. Wasted 4 hours of time, 2 hours there and back, for nothing. Not much to see...

이곳에는 안중근 의사께서 순국하신 장소가 있습니다. 제가 방문했을 때는 찾을 수 없어 직원분께 사진을 보여드리며 여쭤보니, 묵직한 자물쇠 열쇠를 꺼내시며 따라오라고 하시더군요. 잠겨 있던 문을 열어 주셨고, 제가 다 보고 나오자 다시 문을 잠그셨습니다. 여러이유에 의해 문이 평소에 개방되지 않다 보니 자유여행으로 오신 많은 분들이 이곳을 보지 못한 채 그냥 지나치고 있었습니다.

곳곳에 남겨진 글귀들을 오래 마음에 새기고 싶었지만, 중국인 직원분이 30분 단위로 방문객들을 안내하는 분이어서 오래 머무를 수는 없었습니다.

감옥을 나서는데, 구름 한 점 없는 파란 하늘에 햇살이 쏟아지고 있었습니다. 그 순간, 설명하기 어려운 감정이 밀려왔습니다. 평범한 오늘이 가능하기까지, 과거에 자유와 해방을 위해 몸과 뜻을 바치신 분들이 계셨다는 사실이 마음 깊이 와닿아 눈물이 났던것 같습니다
