A day tour to Mount Emei at a height more than 3,000m high. We are lucky to visit the tourist attractions during the low season.
We started our journey taking the local bus towards the mid summit, have our local lunch before proceeding walking through various steps covered with snow. Arrived at the Cable car station, crowded with many locals tourists and the mountain views were spectacular with tress covered with dense snow. Thereafter we continued our climb and walk towards the summit temple.
There are many Buddhist devotees offering their respects and walking around the shrine, some are holding their bead bracelets and chant following the Tibetan culture. Local people informed that the shrine was built more than a thousand years ago. A beautiful sceneries up at the summit, we took a walk towards the various temples. There was a small cafeteria and souvenir shop.
Luckily there wasn’t strong winds at the summit and temperature already at 7 degrees Celsius. As we proceeded down the summit, we stopped by some little shops selling the local biscuits, steam cakes or corns etc including souvenirs.
A tourist attraction that should not be missed...

We took the cable car partway up, which was convenient especially if you’re traveling with elderly family or young kids. The infrastructure is well maintained, with clean rest stops and friendly staff. Do be prepared for some walking even if you take the cable car, but the paths are safe and scenic.
The temples along the way have a peaceful, sacred vibe — especially Baoguo Temple and Wannian Temple. Watching the clouds roll by at the summit felt like being in a dream.
Highly recommended for those who enjoy culture, nature, and a bit of light trekking. Come early in the morning for fewer crowds and bring a jacket — it gets cold fast at the top, even in...
