It's a nice old town, which located below the mountain of Yulong. The view is spectacular, where you can see the mountain and the old town in 1 camera shot! Compared to Lijiang old town, this one isn't that commercialized. I didn't mean it's not commercialized, just that not as crazy as Lijiang old town. You still can see and feel the local villagers who living here doing some small businesses. Things are 'slow' here. People don't rush. It does still cater to tourists, but there are fewer tourists in all and so the atmosphere is quiet and less hectic than in other parts of Lijiang. There are more local people and there seems to be more of a local community than in Shuhe. Importantly, you can get cheaper coffee here than in Shuhe. Bus number 6 takes you from Shuhe to Baisha, but from Baisha back to Shuhe it stops running after 8pm.
