Jade Water Village — Attraction in Lijiang City

Jade Water Village (玉水寨) is a scenic cultural site near Lijiang, blending Naxi heritage with stunning natural springs. Known as the "holy land" of Dongba religion, it features crystal-clear pools fed by snowmelt from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

Highlights & Activities: Sacred Springs & Waterfalls: Explore tiered turquoise pools and cascades, believed to bless visitors. Dongba Culture: Visit the Dongba temple, see ancient pictographs, and watch ritual dances. Fish Feeding: Toss feed to the thriving trout in the pristine waters. Two Car Parks: Note there are two parking areas—park correctly or face a long walk back!

A serene mix of nature...

There is a half mile path that takes you around some ponds stocked with salmon. Not sure what species but have never seen any so bright orange. They look like koi but they are not.

There is also a big golden statue of a snake and some prayer sites. You can fill your water bottle with magical drinking water if you like but don’t slash it on your self of they will get mad at you.

There are no signs explaining what you are looking at so unless you come with a guide you...

We visited Jade Water Village on a rainy day, but the place still had a calm and peaceful atmosphere. It's surrounded by beautiful natural scenery with views of the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

One highlight was feeding the fishes — a simple yet fun activity that added a bit of charm to our short visit. The village was clean, quiet, and a pleasant stop overall.
