Luoyang Ancient Tombs Museum — Attraction in Luoyang

This museum is quite unique since you cannot really find a similar one in other Chinese cities about "ancient Tomb including normal people and emperor". They built a underground "circle" of "collected" tombs which are found during constructing in luoyang city for protection reasons. They also have a emperor tomb called "北魏帝王陵园", quite impressive, like a underground domo. Well, this museum is much smaller than the tomb museums in Beijing (like, Ming/Qing emperor museums), but you can find how the ancient people build/arrange their tombs (with printing, decorations) and how they prepare the burial things for the dead. Museum, was closed for renovation in July 2020. This renovation is still going on in June 2022. There is no information as to when the museum will be reopened. If you're not coming from the airport, then expect a complicated trek, as there is no public transportation nearby.

Slow at first, but has real gems. Almost no tourists in high season no pamphlets on English, but in the far end, after a couple completely empty buildings, there's a display in a nearly unmarked basement of one of the most impressive fresco collections from the ancient age. Find...
