Laomendong — Attraction in Nanjing City

A historic district which featured beautiful old houses. Although the façades look old, it has been overly populated with franchise stores, tourist shops and pure capitalism; the soul of the old town is completely gone. There is advertisement everywhere and the interiors of the shops look like any modern shopping mall. laomendong is one of the best places to visit in nanjing. it was an old trading center and currently its a beatiful tourist attractions with narrow streets and traditonal foods and vintage style shop houses... A nice place to have a browse for around 30mins-1 hour. There are a lot of tourist shops and cafes, a few street stalls. There’s a certain charm to the narrow alleyways and the food smells drifting around. It’s very chaotic by the entrance with lots of cars picking people up and dropping off. There could be more...
