I visited Tianyoufeng Scenic Area (天游峰景区) in Wuyishan (武夷山) in December, and it was an unforgettable experience! The highlight of the trip was the exhilarating hike up Tianyou Peak, also known as Heavenly Tour Peak. The 828 steep stone steps may seem daunting, but the panoramic views from the top are absolutely worth it. I got a bird's-eye view of the surrounding peaks and hills made up of red sandstone, with the Nine-Bend River winding its way through the landscape below.
The area is rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. The ancient calligraphy carvings on the rocks along the trail are a testament to the historical significance of the region.
One tip for future visitors: hike up the (tougher) front side of Tianyou Peak and take the smoother, safer route down the back side. The views are stunning at different heights and offer many phototaking points, and the sense of accomplishment when you reach the top is truly rewarding.
The bamboo rafting down the Nine-Bend River allows us to enjoy the scenery with a unique experience.
Overall, Tianyoufeng Scenic Area is a must-visit destination for anyone travelling to Wuyishan. The combination of natural beauty, cultural history, and the challenge of the hike makes it a unique and...

Tianyoufeng is in the beautiful Wuyishan park. You get here by a bus that has different stops. Make sure to get down at the right one. At arrival there are vending machines so if you forget the water, don't forget to get it here.
The beginning of the path is among beautiful trees on the side of none bend stream that, with its beautiful natural colour, is just stunning.
To go up there are more than 800 stairs, there are few spaces where you can stop to catch your breath and also admire the beautiful view.
At the top, there are little local food shops, a temple, souvenirs, and bathrooms.
Yoi can admire the view, take pictures and get some rest here because there are more stairs awaiting you, going down this time though.
Once you get down treat yourself with a beautiful fresh tea and enjoy some time on the side of the river. If you have time, I suggest also to book a tour on the river, you are transported for a bit longer than a hour from 2 nice people on a bamboo raft and get the chance to admire the surroundings. They also tell you interesting facts of the wuyi park if you...

Went up the Yixiantian route (a thread of sky) which was a neat climb up stairs lit up by a sliver of sky. Not difficult but not for the claustrophobic.
Lots of mosquitos so if you are prone to getting bitten make sure to apply bug spray or tiger balm!
Ice cream at the top went for 20 yuan--pricey for China but maybe not bad...
