The Mao sculpture is surely astounding, as intricate details and complex curvatures are portrayed very accurately on it according to Mao's youth portrait back in 1932, when he was thought to study in Changsha. It was very crowded back at the time I went there few months ago, and I was told (by some standby Chinese Communist Party guards and volunteers) that tons of people from all around the world come here to 'pay their utmost respect' to the former Chairman everyday. Well, it does sound true, though, as I did witness some Chinese students posting the sign of honour and read some 'glorious' quotes of Chairman Mao himself. Anyways, politics aside, this sculpture is definitely one of the best I have seen so far in the world, and I do strongly recommend you to come here and have a look of this grand masterpiece standing at the tip...

He have spent some time in Changsha being young and somehow this could have influenced on his life, which a great example was to finding his beloved wife there. Must see to visit a museum as many descriptions are in English too. There is a gift shop in the same building, so you can find many souvenirs to buy. The monument is on another side of the museum.
