Wuzhen East Gate （South Gate） — Attraction in Tongxiang

Wuzhen East Gate is part of the very popular Wuzhen District. As implied from the its name, it is separate from the West Gate that features the older section.

The East Gate is considered the more “modern” section of Wuzhen. It’s certainly inhabited by more people compared to the West Gate. A notable and quite peculiar feature of the homes are AC units located just a few inches above the water line on the canal they are located.🙃🙃🙃.

Perhaps the most popular attraction in this section are the canal boats or gondolas. 👏👏👏. They are the best way to have a vista of the way people live therein.

It’s just as green as the West Gate. There’s as many foot bridges. The “modern” features are the Old Pawn and Money Lenders House and Soy Sauce Factory.

東柵は、西柵に比べて小規模で、より昔ながらのあるがままの雰囲気が楽しめる場所です。また、私が行った時には夜間のライトアップなどはなくお店も閉まっていて食べ物屋さんを見つけるのにも苦労しました。ですので、東柵を見るならば日中をオススメします。（所要時間は半日といったところでしょうか）そして夜は西柵に移動しライトアップを...
