Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is located under the Glass Bridge. You can enter this Grand Canyon if you buy a single ticket to Grand Canyon or dual type ticket for Glass bridge and Grand Canyon. As suggested by the official staff there, I went to the glass bridge first then continue to Grand Ganyon.
Need to step down by the stairs about 350 steps something then continue with slide down to the ground level, they provide hand glove and sliding mattrast for free just show your passport or ID to local people. But if you don't want to use this slide you still can walk by the stairs down.
At the ground level you can star your journey to explore the grand canyon. The first post is a water fall then following the wooden paths to go inside the canyon. on your left side you see the stream from the water fall to the lake at the end of journey. Beatiful, mistifull and wonderful place to see by walking until the next post you can find a flying fox activites to cross the canyon from the air and the ticket about 40Yuan per person. Other wise you can keep walking throught the paths till the third post. The third post is a pier on the green lake and the boat are ready to sail you to the other edge of the lake. Step out and walk to the Uphill Terminal of Bus and Taxi to go home. This is the End of the journey in exploring the Zhangjiajie...
Read moreThe relatively new tourist spot called the grand canyon of Zhangjiajie is located in the Cili County. As we were staying in the Wulingyuan village we decided to take the green bus from the bus stop below the clock tower. The bus fare is RMB 19/- also including the return trip. As the bus took us through the small villages along the way I noticed that the basic amenities like the road, electricity, etc. has reached even in the remotest of the villages in China and was well maintained and upgraded whenever a need arises. It took us 45 mins to reach the canyon.
It takes close to 3 hours to reach the end of the park leading to a small river where a boat awaits to take you to the end of your journey. If you are a photographer and a big nature lover I guess these 3 hours are not enough to finish all the beautiful photos you can possibly take. Though it took us 3 hours to reach the end point of the park but we never felt it as the views were really relaxing and calm and you completely forget the time as you enjoy the beauty of nature and breath in the fresh air away from all the pollution and busy lifestyle of a city. The free boat service takes 20 minutes in the calm waters to reach the shore of our exit to find ourselves walking through petty shops and you reach the bus stop once...
Read moreOne of the very much hyped attractions of the area. The facility is well organized for large tourist management and people need to buy tickets for fixed slots. The glass bridge perse is too crowded, either to get a descent individual snap or to get the fear (or high) of walking on the glass bridge. However we were at the closing time of the place and we did get a descent time to enjoy just by ourselves. It's Serene and gives a dramatic views of the Canyon. It appears there is trekking facility to the bottom along with bungee jumping options. Good place to enjoy if you are there in less...
