It's lots of fun and you can do the attractions that they offer in a day but I would recommend doing it in 2 days. Zip lining it's very mild and it's done at 9 am if the lines are dry. At 10 am they do water rafting which for the most part of the year is also a mild thing to do, the guides say it's a 2 hr trip and they will stop for you to swim in safe spots of the river. During rain season they say that it gets a bit more extreme and that the same trip takes 45 mins to do. The real highlight of the experience is the caverns, so definitely bring a flashlight, some sort of footwear that can get wet but that it covers your foot completely, DON'T bring your cellphone or wallet in the cave because you'll be swimming in deep water. Also be careful when wondering at night I happened to see a Coral snake (venomous) real close to the hotel room, so don't mess with reptiles here. If you want to save some money on the trip, stay in the hotel across the street which is way cheaper than the one inside the resort, with the stay at the hotel entrance to the resort is included, the guided trips have a cost of 20k COP each. Than it's whatever you want to spend on food. It's a really nice experience and I would recommend...
Read moreCan you imagine a river running through the Colombian Andes with the base of the river made entirely of marble stone? You can go there and see it for yourself. It was a 3.5 hour bus ride from Medellin through some beautiful mountain scenery. Once there you can stay at the park in the lodges or set up tent at the camping site. There you have many activities you can do, including cliff diving, water tubing, and even cave exploration. There is a cave there that they claim to have a species of birds that links them to the bat, the Guacharo. This is a bit questionable, but a nice brief spelunking adventure. On the way out, if you miss last bus you came in on to head back, wait on the road and try your luck with your thumb or flag down a local bus. The latter will most likely be packed and you will have to stand most of the way back...
