Parque Santander — Attraction in Cúcuta

Downtown park full of pigeons. Cúcuta as not as bad as most in America make you think full of violence prostitution etc. You would think it is because of border town. But I felt safe , walk everywhere and no issues even at night. Just be smart and do research before visiting. The park is central to city ans there are nice places to visit and people with money. New Land rovers, and more. It has it's negatives not really a tourist town but interesting to visit. I recommend also the Avenida de libertadores. It's nice green area for biking jogging. Daytime you are pretty safe actually. Colombia in general is much safer than most assume. Just come with good intentions. The people here take care of you and warn you if you shouldn't go some place. Be nice and it opens doors. Plus the Colombian people are the most respectful, nicest people I have ever met even nicer than mexico, Brazil, usa cuba and other countries I've lived in. Highly recommend Colombia as a us traveler. As long as you are adaptable, you will be fine. But I've also noticed every city has it's nice high cost area. From Brazil, cuba, México usa.
