It is a charismatic theme park that shows the tradition of the Colombian coffee culture of yesteryear with a lot of humor, which reflects, the way of living and working the agricultural production in a traditional way that developed the inhabitants of the Colombian coffee sector. The cost of admission is 6.7 € / person and it allows you to travel through the five stops with a Spanish-speaking guide who explains each of them with humor. I could not show the same tour in English or French. The park is located 30 minutes by car from the city of Armenia and 45 minutes by public intercity bus (€ 1 -3 € / person), however, you must walk 2.5 km from the public bus stop. In the city of Armenia you can buy a tour that will take you by private high-comfort bus directly, but at a higher cost. In the park there is no restaurant nearby other than the interim restaurant, so, you should consider the time of stay, because the complete tour can take between 3 to 4 hours plus the time of return to the city of origin. If you want to have lunch inside Recuca Park, you will be served the typical dish of the region that they call "Bitute" not suitable for vegans and with many calories, but very delicious and abundant. Cost € 5 / person. Highly recommended and fun, however the soul of the visit are the show and the humor offered by the guides in each season, so if you do not understand the Spanish language you will experience alone, a colorful, beautiful and cultural tour. But if you understand the Spanish language do not miss the visit with the guide Alexis, extraordinary and...
Read moreThis is an awesome experience specially if you are travelling with small kids or the rest of the family. The experience is more aimed at giving visitors an inside in the lives of the people who harvest the coffee in Colombia. Be preferred to be very interactive as they will dress you in typical cloth for both men and women so don't be shy and get out of your comfort zone. I went to RECUNCA after a visit to Hacienda Combia and although they were back to back I did not feel as if I was being overwhelmed with the same information simply because Combia was more in the technical side of how the final product got to the coffee bag you open. RECUNCA also covers it but in less depth. Also the price is 1/5 of combia. At 20,000 COP and an additional 16,000 for the biturre which is food. The food is meant to show you how and what workers used to eat while working on the Plantation. If you are looking to learn more about the product I would stop and go combia but instead you want to learn about the folks that live the Juan Valdez way of life...
Read moreI did an English tour with Juanda (if i recall correctly). It was a good tour and the property is really nice. They have a cool model of what traditional farms look like and of how the coffee production works. Juanda also showed me how to do a traditional dance in their clothing. It’s all definitely meant to entertain you. I really liked going and picking the ripe coffee beans myself. Juanda seemed very knowledgeable about coffee and he constantly gives you the opportunity to ask questions. He also cracked some jokes, which I fell for. Overall a really nice tour. I would say that if you want the English tour, you have to pay 50k extra (so double the price) and the extra 50k you can only pay by transfer or cash. I personally wish wish that at the end of the tour when we tried one of their premium coffee, i could’ve been shown a coffee brewing method. Or something where i was taught that i could do by...
