Happiness and good times it’s what one makes of any opportunity when traveling abroad. Having said that, you may consider a couple of items before you make the trip to playa tranquila….. 1- the beach it’s not quiete, there’s a lot of of stereos playing their own tunes 2- be aware of the sanitary conditions of the shacks that cook right by the stool water canal. 3-always, always negotiate down prices, for example a shack offered Mojitos at $45,000 each! ( not even the Marriott charges that much) 4-if you know you are going to drink licores, beer and water, take a little cooler so you don’t have to be ripped off 5-if you can afford the expensive tours, take them because you get what you pay for and some, with cheap tours that end up costing you a full day of fun 6-don’t accept anything for “free”, politely decline and don’t touch what’s been offered for free. 7-if you see a mini green like apple floating in the ocean DON’T bite it!!, it’s toxic 8-and finally, all controlled substances are controlled and it’s very dangerous...

Absolutely beautiful beach! I would recommend going with a guide or on a tour so you have someone to navigate the different areas of beaches and help you deal with vendors. The island is mostly cash based so if you want to use a card, there's an extra fee. Basically, there are three sectors of beach, the first sector being the most crowded so try to go further to the second or beyond. * Also bring your own toilet paper for the bathroom and snorkel equipment if you have it.

We visited this beach as part of a tour and it was great. The water is sooo blueish green, it's gorgeous. Much more appealing than the water closer to the city. It's basically an extension of playa blanca, I think it's slightly less crowded and with fewer vendors because of the walk it would take to get to this end. We took a small boat to our area though. It's close to racoon island and the bioluminescent water too!
