Amazing place - hot, thermal man-made pools with the source pool being a natural hot spring pool. Beautiful, lush forests all around the pools. Ice-cold showers to shower before entering the thermal pools and in-between dips. There's a Turkish-style sauna or steam room adjoining the pools. Convenient changing facilities. Fascinating hike to the waterfalls nearby. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because (1) the gorro or cap rule was not enforced consistently and (2) if you are planning to visit over the weekend or during a holiday, as my group of 3 did, you have to arrive around 9 AM to avoid the long lines for depositing your belongings or getting a locker, for retrieving them, for the changing cubicles before and after. We arrived at 9 AM but by the time we left the pools to hike to the waterfalls (after the Turkish bath and changing back), the place was mobbed. However, the crowds were enjoying the water-aerobucd sessions and the delicious snacks available all around the pools. Alternative would be to go on a weekday and even stay overnight in the hotel. We didn't do that as we visited Guatavita on...
Read moreThis place works very well for a day of hot springs pools and steam baths. The place is completely surrounded by the mountains and makes it really attractive visually. You can also hear the water running in the river at all times. You need to go down (and up) a steep path arranged with stairs. I reckon it is not convenient for people with mobility problems. Also if your physical condition is not favorable, you should go easy on the steps because altitude could take a toll on you too. Hot springs are abundant so at least one of the two pools will surely be available. The food is just ok. I recommend that you keep your food expectations relatively low. Oh, in relation to food and beverages, curiously I ordered bottled water and they had only sparkling! Not sure if I’m just unlucky! I have stayed in their hotel too but my experience wasn’t the best. I find it somewhat expensive for the service which is clean but basic. I was told reservations can only be made through a deposit directly in the bank! That’s not...
Read moreThis hotel is located in a nice rural location with beautiful view surrounded by trees and mountains. The hotel looks nice; however, the rooms a very basic, lacks amenities, tv cable wasn't working, not dryer, bathroom clean, but doorstep loose with nails laying on the floor very dangerous, I stepped on it by mistake and hurt my feet. Bed was big and comfortable, but I found an spider laying on bed. The cost of the hotel for just one night was almost $ 100, which I consider really high compared to the services offered. Pools and installation lacks mantainance. After 10 pm lights were off and hotel was completely closed to public. No front desk service available. Not everything was bad, food at the restaurant was delicious, sadly, they didn't have any drinkable water at the hotel, only juices or beer. Overall this places isn't...
