It is very rustic Park with no trails maps nor toilet or changing facilities nor food nor refreshments. The lake is muddy not looking good for swimming with looks like big carp and some ducks. Trails in the area and around the lake are hand-built stone paths take care walking often people walk beside on smoother ground. Several groups came when we did and one walk up above to view point or around the lake all left in less than one hour. Lots of tropical plants and entrance displayed wide variety of butterflies but we saw none. There is a nice little restaurant across the road from the entrance. Admission was 28509 for 3 adults. Long drive from La Vega...
Read moreIt is a small park that can be visited between 2 to 4 hours. It has different tracks surrounding the lagoon. You can also do birdwatching around the lagoon an inside the forest. Also good to dress in colors similar to the forest to get closer to the birds. They sing...
Read moreGreat place to visit on a lazy day at San Francisco / La Vega. Beautiful nature, quiet and friendly helpful staff. Witnessed the release of a sloth in the reservation after being rescued somewhere in the colder areas of La Vega. Three paths to walk, easy, but need to watch your step. It can be muddy and slippery. Great place to spot birds, tortoises, butterflies, fireflies, and much more if patient and quiet enough.
Looked after contractors from the municipality, it looks tidy and well kept.
Please leave your dog at home to not scare...
