It was amazing to stay in a treehouse in the jungle for a night. It rained for most of the night so we listened to that and the jungle creatures making noise. It was an amazing experience.
Our treehouse was about 40 feet off the ground and had a twin and full bed, running but not potable water, toilet, sink and shower/bathtub. There are mosquito nets on the beds and the whole place is screened in. There is a small space between the door and the wall and two frogs were able to get in, but we really didn't have any bugs inside while we were there.
We stayed in a larger room that was on the ground the second night and it was obviously older and in need of a little maintenance. The bathroom and shower are outside of the building and the shower drain seemed plugged and there was a little standing water there. A frog stayed the night in the bathroom but was gone in the morning.
They offer activities like jungle walks where a native guide explains the flora and fauna and we enjoyed. There is also a "canopy" experience with ascending ropes, Zipline and narrow bridges that we enjoyed.
They have nice, cooked meals to enjoy inside a lodge or small dining room.
One night was probably enough for us. I don't think we were dry the whole time we were there but that's to be expected in the rainforest. Your mileage may vary depending on your comfort. The experience was almost like camping.
There is no wifi here and cell signal is pretty much non-existent also. It is a nature experience.
I almost finished the review without talking about one of the best parts. The staff is fantastic and super friendly and helpful. Alex was assigned to us when we arrived and he took care of whatever we needed. Thanks Alex!
Overall we really liked our stay here. I will remember it...
Read moreAmazing people. Amazing place. Goran and his staff are among the most kind, friendly and professional that I have ever encountered. Tanimboca is an enchanting place in the heart of the Amazon. A MUST Visit Destination for ANY Traveler who wants an up close and personal, life-changing and safe Amazon adventure. Goran and his staff handled everything!!! Right from my arrival in and overnight layover in Bogota (both ways). They arranged my hotel, first class transportation to and from Hotel with reservation... and everything else from the time I landed in Leticia until I departed. Highly recommended for Western travelers who are not so good with Spanish (and of course) those who are. Goran and his staff will create an experience that will suit your interests and level or adventure. Ask Goarn about his handcrafted knives and he may even let you buy one. WOW!!! And it's awesome that the value of the US Dollar in Colombia makes the stay at Tanimboca (and all the other cool stuff) all less than half the price you would expect to pay....
