Very clean system. A great experience to ride the METRO CABLE all the way into the forest. The final station is far! Actually further than I thought. It gets you into the wilderness. At the end is a nice park with information about the area. Also has a small cafe. Ideal to get away from the city . HOWEVER, the ladies at the cafe have a TERRIBLE attitude. They HATE their job. The food selection is limited ( which is ok, but the food they have is pretty tasteless- borderline bad/cheap). I can only recommend the coffee here. Bring your own!

The Metro Cable was a fun ride up the hills, through barrios that tourists should NOT visit, over a forest, and into Parque Arvis. If you think about it, it's quite a significant technological feat for a so-called Third-World country. We have NOTHING of the sort in Nigeria... no one would maintain it, and it would have been blown up by Boko Haram (Islamic terrorists) within the first year. Think about this, folks. Oh yeah... enjoy the quiet and the view. I definitely did.

Easy, clean, safe, affordable, interesting, and fun. I can't recommend this experience highly enough. The cable ride gives you a birds-eye view of some very interesting neighbourhoods which most gringos wouldn't feel comfortable exploring on foot. At the top of the hill the view changes to sparse farms and then tranquil rainforest. Arvi park has lots of food and trinket vendors and great guided walks. Very fun!

Get a ride to the Parque Arvi metrocable station and take a round trip ride for 12.500 COP. It's absolutely worth the ride. Then, take a guided tour through the walking trails and make sure to visit the vendor's tent for delicious food and really cool crafts. You can easily negotiate with your driver to wait and drive you home. The ride too and from is an experience.

Taking the metro cable there is a journey and an adventure and you get to see many aspects of Colombian society and daily life. It can be a little intimidating and difficult to navigate how to get the there and how much it costs: yo have to pay a metro cable fee and the cable car fee to Arvi (if you plan to come back that way you have to purchase round trip).

Parque Arvi is a great place to escape the city. The cable car downstairs is connected to the metro. So if you bought a metro ticket already it's free to take. Just the final bit to parque arvi is 24000$ extra (both ways). If you want to save the money don't take the last part. The best views of the city are from the official metro cable stations.
